Man Seriously Hurt In Machete Attack
Man, 18, Charged In Attack

MILFORD, N.H. -- Police in Milford said they've taken an 18-year-old man into custody in connection with a machete attack that left another man in serious condition.

Police took suspect Cortland Burke into custody Thursday and charged him with one count of attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault and one count of criminal threatening.

Milford police said that they were responding to a report of a fight at the Heritage Estate Apartments early Thursday when they found Crosden Archuleta, 20, seriously injured, including a fractured skull. He was struck with a machete in the arm and head.

Police said Burke ran from the building to a car driven by Matthew Maynard, 17, who they're still searching for.
